Symptoms to Subluxation
For 24 centuries most of the world has depended on the doctor of medicine to cure health problems, yet the world is still sick and getting sicker.
40 million Americans have switched their thinking about doctors and each year millions are switching to Chiropractic care.
Medicine became “scientific” with the appearance of Bacteriology, and the education of the medical professionals has centered around the germ theory of disease and focused exclusively on germs causing diseases. Some progress has been made in the fight against germs. Medical science is beginning to realize it is the degree of natural immunity, natural body defense, and vitality that determine the success or failure of any treatment. Because the medical profession has been preoccupied with germs, viruses, and infections, the vast majority of conditions, ills and diseases that trouble human kind have been ignored.

15,000,000 Americans suffer from chronic headaches; another 28,000,000 have arthritis. Heart disease is still the number one killer. Chronic fatigue, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers and nervous disorders still must be dealt with. Hay fever, asthma, and sinuses make hundreds of thousands miserable and sciatica plagues millions. Chronic backaches increase every day.
Chiropractic
gets sick patients well and prevents the healthy from getting sick.
The
Nervous System
The nerve system resembles an upside down tree.
The main trunk is suspended from the brain and the tiniest twigs end in the cells
of the body.
When nerve impulses flow smoothly and unimpeded as nature intends,
a person enjoys health and a feeling of well-being. But when there is interference
in normal nerve function, there will be imbalance either physical, chemical or
emotional.
The spinal column is intended to protect the spinal cord and
the nerves leading from it. Should there be any loss of structural integrity,
curvature, motion, restrictions and distortions of the spine, this could result
in imbalance called a subluxation. This imbalance causes interference with normal
nerve function.
Structure relates to function, function relates to structure.
Subluxations-Health’s
Hidden Enemy
In order to enjoy sound health, the individual must
maintain structural balance of the spinal column. Any imbalance in structure or
function will result in lowered immunity to disease. It is the stresses
and strains, knocks and bumps of living that sometimes creates this imbalance.
Misaligned vertebrae which create interference are called subluxations.
A fall or injury may produce subluxations. They may result from stresses or strains
either physically, chemically or emotionally which may overload the nervous system’s
protective mechanism and produce subluxations.
Retracing
What do we mean by retracing? Primarily, it implies going over ground which has
already been covered, eventually reaching the point from where you started. When
you are under Chiropractic care you may often exhibit symptoms which have not
manifested themselves for months or even years. Your first impression may be that
you becoming worse; when in fact you are retracing several stages through which
your disease has progressed. This is not peculiar to only certain cases, but is
a common condition to which all are subject. The disease must be retraced, step-by-step,
in order to reach the point from where it started, namely, health.
Nature
Heals with Chiropractic Care
Chiropractors do not need to give medicine
to restore health. They know that nature provides each person with a built-in
druggist capable of compounding medicines, hormones, enzymes and antibiotics.
Just as there is a health kit inside your body that heals cuts, mends broken bones
and repairs damaged organs… so is there a doctor on the inside who can prescribe
everything you need… in the exact dose needed… and without harmful side
effects.
The human body is capable of healing itself of every known disease provided
nothing interferes with normal nerve function.
Your chiropractor is an intelligent, scientifically trained doctor. Many years of professional schooling in basic and clinical sciences have given your chiropractor the necessary background for discretion and judgment in caring for their patients.
Dr. Dilorenzo knows that each patient is an individual… that each spinal column is different… and that each spinal column needs specific chiropractic care.
About Us
Mission
Statement
To empower as many people as divinely possible,
to achieve and maintain optimal human performance by applying the principles of
Chiropractic to remove nerve interference by use of hands only.
Dr.
DiLorenzo is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.
What does it mean to be in the care of a Palmer graduate? On September 18, 1895,
Dr. Daniel David Palmer discovered the principle of chiropractic and by 1897,
he opened the first school for chiropractic study. Now over 100 years later, Palmer
College of Chiropractic continues to produce the finest chiropractors in the world
by expounding on its principles as the "fountainhead" for chiropractic education.
So you can rest assured that Dr. DiLorenzo has the best education behind him.
Dr.
Matt grew up in Fairfax, Virginia and attended Virginia Tech. He went
on to Palmer College of Chiropractic in October 1994 and graduated in February
1998. From there he went to Florida where he participated in an internship program
at Hartley Chiropractic.
In January 1999,
Dr. DiLorenzo and his wife, Mandy, returned to their home state of Virginia to
open their practice in Leesburg. It is a family business which is just one unique
side of the service you will receive at DiLorenzo Chiropractic.
Dr.
DiLorenzo uses an exciting combination of skilled technique and philosophy geared
to getting sick people well and keeping the well from becoming sick. At DiLorenzo
Chiropractic you will find people dedicated to getting you feeling better fast!
Dr. Matt and his staff work together in making your experience as a chiropractic
patient easy and rewarding. We have assistants at the front desk to take care
of patient scheduling and assist the patients with whatever questions or needs
they may have. Mandy and Kim verify patients' insurance benefits and processes
the paperwork with your insurance company making care in the office hassle-free.
You will see Mandy at the front desk occasionally but works behind the scenes
now. Or you may see her and the kids getting adjusted too.
For those of you without insurance benefits, DiLorenzo Chiropractic will work
with you as well. One half of Americans no longer have health insurance and those who do have found their benefits reduced. DiLorenzo Chiropractic
has payment plans so that more people are able to afford the care they need
and want, with or without health insurance.
A whole
week of care can cost what you could pay for one visit elsewhere.
Another way to save… Studies show that chiropractic can double your immune capacity,
naturally and without drugs. The immune system fights colds, the flu, and other
sicknesses. So you may not be running off to the doctor as much.
Studies show
that people actually pay less for their long term overall health care expenses
if they are seeing a chiropractor. Bottom line – it shouldn’t cost an arm and
a leg to correct your health! And be assured – everyone receives the same
excellent quality in care.
Dr. Matt is a strong believer
in educating his patients. Not only does Dr. Matt hand out health information
to every patient each week, but there is also an “information center”
in the reception room filled with information on different health topics and books
to empower his patients to make informed decisions for themselves and their families.
Dr.
DiLorenzo is a strong believer in educating his patients. Dr. Matt is a strong
believer in educating his patients by providing a bookshelf full of information
for improving your health & maintaining a healthy lifestyle and weekly handouts
with information varying from current health news to humorous anecdotes (remember,
sometimes humor is the best answer!) to healthy recipes.
When
you visit the office you will notice that there are a few Rhinos around. That
is their mascot. The Rhino represents an attitude of "keep on keeping on" and
"moving forward without hesitation."

Testimonials
“Every
organ in your body is connected with the one under your hat.”
“Ever
since my daughter was 1 year old she has been treated for respiratory ailments…No
one told me this could be related to a car accident we were in when she was 1
year old…No one except Dr. Matt, that is. After years of running to “sick
appointments” and prescriptions our daughter, now 5 years old, spends afternoons
running and playing with her friends. She may not look different on the outside,
but she is very much improved on the inside. After 2 months of chiropractic care,
our daughter is off her inhaler and allergy medicine, and best of all, she is
sleeping without discomfort.”
-Constance J.
“I
could barely walk because of back pain and neck pain. I was severely depressed
and had no self esteem…I now feel 15 years younger. I no longer take prescription
drugs nor do I have…depression. I have no more pain in my back and very
little pain in my neck. I saw Dr. Matt daily for many weeks, now I go 3 days a
week. I feel like he gave me a second chance at life…”

“Dear Dr. Matt,
I want to thank you for helping
me to get my life back. When I came to you about a year and a half ago I was that
old woman. Within a week, I was no longer taking four pills every four hours for
pain, and I was able to move about more freely and I could go back to work. This
is job that I love, driving a school bus.
You worked with me for
a couple of months and I was no longer afraid to move in any direction. I am a
very active person, who loves doing active things with kids. I love doing parades
and teaching bus safety. I love gardening and jumping in leaves, and making snowmen.
AND, I love best of all doing these things with PZAZZ. This means I have to be
able to walk, run, jump, bend, lift, stretch, and thank YOU very much I can do
all this and more.

The list does not stop here. I stayed on for maintenance
as you advise your patients to do. I had bad allergies and you worked on those.
I now have very few allergy attacks and they are mild. I no longer take any allergy
medication. The kids on the bus can now wear perfumes and colognes and we get
to try new “smells”. I can come in with aches and pains, be treated
and get on with my life. To me this is a Biggie, because very soon I will celebrate
my 59th birthday. AND I FEEL GREAT!
Thank you,
Ruth K.

What to Expect
“The
power that created you heals you.”
Q:
What is a subluxation?
A: A subluxation is the condition of a vertebra
that has lost its proper alignment with the vertebra above or the one below which
puts pressure on the nerves, interfering with the body’s ability to heal
itself.
Q: What happens at my first visit?
A: When
you arrive at the office you will fill out some paperwork, we will copy your license
and insurance card. In one of the rooms, Dr. Matt will do a consultation, a question
and answer discussion to learn about your past health history and current health
concerns. Dr. Matt will perform a detailed chiropractic analysis to find nerve
pressure and spinal subluxations. Based on the examination, Dr. Matt or Melanie
will take the necessary x-rays. If x-rays are necessary it is most likely we will
schedule a follow-up appointment to discuss the findings and create a mutual plan
of action. This may vary according to the individual situation.
Q:
Can I be adjusted at the first visit?
A: That is between you, the
patient, and Dr. Matt. It depends on your past history, what he may find during
the examination and other factors that you discuss with the Doctor.
Q: What is a chiropractic adjustment?
A: It is a specific,
applied force using hands only to one or more vertebra or several to remove nerve
interference to allow the body to heal.
Q: Do I have to have
an x-ray?
A: If you are pregnant, no. If the patient is a child,
usually not. Otherwise, it is a decision for your doctor to make as to what is
best for you.
Q: Once I start seeing a chiropractor, can I stop?
A: There is an old wive's tale that is still around that says
this, but the fact is that once you learn and feel what you body can feel like,
you probably won't accept not feeling great anymore. Just like the dentist whom
you visit twice a year, chiropractic patients usually continue some sort of regular
visits as a preventative measure and to maintain optimum health and energy. A
healthy body will be the most effective way to fight any virus or disease. Once
we have addressed your immediate concern, the frequency of your adjustments will
be dictated by how much you value your heath.
