FAQS

“The power that made the body, heals the body.” – B.J. Palmer

Q: What is a subluxation?

A: A subluxation is the condition of a vertebra that has lost its proper
alignment with the vertebra above or the one below, which puts pressure on
the nerves, interfering with the body’s ability to heal itself.

Q: What happens at my first visit?

A: Upon your arrival, you will fill out paperwork or bring in a completed
copy of the downloadable forms. Mandy will copy you photo I.D. and
insurance card. Then Dr. Matt will consult with you, a question and answer
discussion, to learn about your past health history and current health
concerns. Based on that information, Dr. Matt will perform a detailed
chiropractic analysis to find nerve pressure and spinal subluxation. If
necessary, x-rays can be taken. At this point, a follow-up appointment will
be scheduled to discuss the findings from the x-ray. This varies as every
individual patient has different needs and health goals.

Q: Can I be adjusted at the first visit?

A: That is between you and Dr. Matt. It depends on your past history, what
he may find during the examination, and other factors that you discuss with
the Doctor.

Q: What is a chiropractic adjustment?

A: It is a specific, applied force using hands only to one or more vertebra
to remove nerve interference to allow the body to heal.

Q: Do I have to have an x-ray?

A: If you are pregnant, no. If the patient is a child, usually not.
Otherwise, it is a decision for your doctor to make as to what is best for
you.

Q: Once I start seeing a chiropractor, can I stop?

A: There is an old wives’ tale that says, “but the fact is that once you
learn and feel what your body can feel life, you probably won’t accept not
feeling great anymore.” Just like the dentist, whom you visit twice a year,
chiropractic patients usually continue some sort of regular visits as a
preventative measure and to maintain optimum health and energy. A healthy
body will be the most effective way to fight any virus or disease. Once we
have addressed your immediate concern, the frequency of your adjustments
will be dictated by how much you value your health.
